Jesse is getting on in years, I think that he is
four now. He lives with his parents, on the back
of the next acreage.
When Jesse has a problem, he comes through the
fence to find me and we discuss matters under a
tree in the yard.
As I was finishing up in the greenhouse this
morning, I spotted Jesse, dressed in his Toy
Story vest and Spiderman underpants climbing
through the back fence. As I walked toward him, I
noticed that he looked green around the gills,
though he had red stuff in his teeth and all down
the front of him.
After a moment of conversation, I surmised that
my buddy had eaten red play dough and was a sick
little man. He was home alone, with his grandpa,
who doesn't do sick kids, Jesse informed me, so
he migrated to the nearest 'Momma'. Me.
I cleaned up the little guy and made him some
peanut butter play dough. Think about it ,
little people put everything in their mouths. It
is part of their learning process. Don't give
them things that shouldn't go in their mouths.
Here is the recipe for peanut butter play dough.1
cup peanut butter, 1 cup of powdered milk, and
1/2 cup honey. Give them an assortment of things
to stick in their play dough like raisins, nuts,
M&Ms, pretzels. This is a good toy, good source
of nutrition, and it won't make your child sick
or stain the carpet.
Jesse made a dog with a pretzel tail, raisin eyes
and was going home to feed it to his grandpa. I
only saw him drop it twice as he climbed back
through the fence.
